It’s a lot of work
coming Home
retreading
previous paths
turning
at some fateful moment
back
to the by ways of our
Birth
The place we begat
and begun
learned the faintest
rudimentary notes
of our Song
Sung or buried
celebrated or misunderstood
Something drives us
larger than our dread
propelled down narrow corridors
flopping through tributaries
our bodies
finite and tired
challenged
by current and claw
But what of the Spirit
intangible and unquiet
connected beyond
the frailty of mortal coil
Bigger
Singer
of Universal Song
that yarn that rouses us
to roll up our sleeves and get dirty
extend beyond ego
and self preservation
and what awaits
The Circle
The Cycle of Life
The Truth
that No One, NO ONE
does Anything
Alone
We are Dependent, Sisters
We are Soft, Brothers
Children, We NEED Each Other
for without the Grace of Air
even the mightiest
would fall in minutes
without water, days…..
And what makes up the Earth
the sand and stone
the bone and stardust
beneath our feet
if not the woven matrix
of Miracle
A Miracle
in This Moment
This Breath
SACRED
but not
infinite
therefore vulnerable
to Time and Circumstance
Circumstance
may bring us together again
Remind us
of something Deeper
beyond the toll of “have too’s”
and the conjured “scare” in scarcity
Circumstance
may bring us
Home
United
Hand in Hand
in Sacred Relationship
forsaking gluttony and fear
Toiling Together
and Dreaming
so that our Children
ALL Earth’s Children
might learn
the intricate lattice
of their Song

Great Poem, Vinny!
I’m at the computer to confirm a flight to California, to be with family for Thanksgiving, and all of the ‘family’ thoughts are swirling through my head. What a perfect poem.
Thank you 🙂
Leslie
