About Tallie Spiller
I am a mother and activist living in Knappa, Oregon. I grew up in Mendocino, California, and I graduated with a Political Science degree from Humboldt State University. I’ve lived and travelled many places before making my home here in beautiful Oregon. My activism manifests itself in many ways from a conversation, to knocking on doors, and sometimes in direct action/ civil disobedience. I believe we each have a responsibility to fight injustice with whatever gifts, privilege, and power we have. Issues I feel particularly passionate about include the healthcare crisis, body autonomy, consent, wrongful convictions, mass incarceration, racism, animal oppression, environmental protection, and the climate crisis. I also consider my role as a mother to be part of my activism. While our society tends to value wage-earning work over caregiving, part of feminism for me is taking my role in guiding and preparing my daughter for the world as the most serious and important work I will ever do.
